The word 'grill' is not part of Canadian vocabulary. As an example, this morning the weather was fantastic and we all got a little excited...so we decided to 'BBQ' tonight. In other words, we decided to grill out. Or, grill some ribs on the grill. But if you ask a Canadian, we were BBQing ribs on the BBQ.
Anyway, Tyler's secret to BBQing ribs is boiling them in pure Coca-Cola before putting the meat on the metal rack with flames under it. Whatever that thing is called...I don't even know anymore.
We may have been overly optimistic about the weather forecast since it started raining right before our cooking-meat-and-potatoes-and-veggies-over-flames session (again, whatever you want to call it).
But the boys were troopers and stood under an umbrella while keeping an eye on the hot metal box with the food (you know the one I'm talking about).
So, let's compromise. The BBQed ribs were excellent. The grilled veggies were delicious. The cooked-over-flames potatoes were great. There. Are we all happy now?
Oh, thanks to Carla and Tyler for hosting a great evening!
