Nooooo...the Easter Bunny did not bring delicious vanilla cupcakes topped with fresh strawberry frosting.
I made those. They were delicious. You must make this frosting recipe immediately.
The Easter Bunny did bring a big fat chocolate bunny...but somewhere along the way the poor guy lost his ears.
The Canadian tried to blame the dog, but I told him lying on Easter is not allowed.
You know what else the Easter Bunny brought?
A whole butt ton of snow.
Wasn't that nice of him?
Where's the Cadbury egg?
Where's the Peeps?
Maybe just a few jellybeans.
Apparently the Easter Bunny and I need to have a little chit-chat.
I should go ahead and state for the record that there hasn't been a spec of snow on the ground for a couple of weeks now. It's not exactly warm yet, and probably won't be for another month or so, but even the average 36 degrees is a significant improvement from the -10 in February.
The locals tell me that an Easter snow storm is pretty normal and that, thankfully, it is usually the last of the season. Don't get too excited here, it's not like we're about to bust out the bikinis and flip-flops - that would be crazy. I'm just saying that it might finally be safe to take my winter tires off the car...and maybe trade in my parka for a peacoat. Maybe.
It was a busy long-weekend around here. In Canada, the whole place shuts down for Good Friday and Easter Monday. During this four day weekend we have celebrated Tyler's birthday, TC's birthday, had a joint birthday party and then enjoyed a delicious turkey feast tonight with TC's family in honor of Easter.
The Canadian's birthday was yesterday and last night we had a rootin' tootin' good time celebrating for him and Tyler. Right now I am currently hung over from too much wine, three birthday cakes and turkey.
It's not a bad way to be actually.
Hoppy Easter!
