Happy Thanksgiving. Canadian Edition.

Happy Thanksgiving from Canada!

That's right folks, here in Canada Thanksgiving is in October. On a Monday. But most people have the big turkey dinner on Sunday. Confusing, eh? It's like the calendar is having an identity crisis or something.

While it's a little bit different to celebrate Thanksgiving in 80 degree weather and it's a tad bit weird to not have Thanksgiving kick off the Christmas season, it is still a wonderful holiday filled with plenty of delicious turkey.

The Canadian and I headed over to his parents house where we enjoyed dinner with his entire family.

They set a wonderful table filled with turkey, gravy, potatoes, squash, coleslaw, peas and plenty of wine.

My mother-in-law is a whiz in the kitchen and dinner was delicious. The Canadian practically had to roll me home. It was kind of embarrassing...

We even had some great entertainment for the evening. It came in the form of a very grumpy 2 year old.

But, even with a tear stained face, our niece is pretty much the cutest thing ever.

Only two things we able to turn her frown upside down; crackers and picking tomatoes.

Who would have guessed that green tomatoes could bring a girl so much joy?

I think the pink rain boots helped too. Rubber boots are the perfect accessory for a bright sunny day.

But I have to give Dylan props too. He helped out in the smile department as well.

This is what Thanksgiving is all about folks. Being thankful for all the good things in life.

Like tomatoes.

And happy children.

Happy Thanksgiving from Canada!
