The Final Days of 2011.

Last recap of our trip to Atlanta, I promise. Seeing it is now a new year, I feel a need to document the last few days of the the old year. I've been trying to come up with some fun twist to use in writing this post but so far I've come up with nothing. nada. zip. Sorry. The good news is there is no place to go from here but up. I have high blogging hopes for 2012.

That's right. Mickey Mouse belgium waffles are the new breakfast of champions. You heard it here first, folks. My grandpa gave me that waffle iron twenty years ago and its still cookin' up delicious waffles to this day. Amen for quality kitchenware. And thank you mom for remembering we own it.

We spent one afternoon visiting my bestie, Jen, and her family. I tried to get Connor to play trains with me but he was too busy having a serious conversation with his friend Woody. I tried to explain it but Connor doesn't seem to understand that we only get to see each other a few times a year and that he needs to take advantage of hanging out with me. Alas, I was ignored. Woody is way cooler than me.

Riley showed a little more interest in me. Thanks for making me not feel like a total loser, kid. She's pretty much the cutest kid in town and she's lucky I didn't bring her back to Canada with me.

Another afternoon we spent having lunch with my favorite girl, Allison, at a super cute restaurant.

I tell ya, in my next life when I own my own restaurant I am totally putting adorable blankets out to keep my customers legs warm.

I love that part of town. It's full of cute shops and cool spots to grab a bite to eat.

Eventually we wandered into an antique market where The Canadian found the perfect use for all the ancient skis in our basement. How good would that look as a coat rack in the mud room that I totally plan on having in my next house that we haven't started looking for and probably won't buy for another 3-5 years? Yeah, I think so too.

Anywhooo....

TC and I headed downtown to check out Bodies...The Exhibition. Have you heard of it? I highly recommend it when the show comes to city near you.

We wandered around Atlantic Station for a while, mostly because TC got me a fancy new camera lens for Christmas and I wanted to test it out.

Fortunately, I found the perfect place to play with my new lens.

It was only slightly embarrassing.

Okay, there is probably a limit to how long you can stand nose-to-nose with a Christmas tree before people start to really wonder what the hell you're doing over there.

Anyway, as soon as TC finally dragged me away from the tree we spotted the kiddie choo-choo train. He tried to play it off but I knew he was secretly wishing we had brought Jen's kids with us so he could justify a quick ride on the train. Maybe next year, dude. I think two adults riding in the caboose would be a little weird and let's face it, we've had our share of embarrassment for the afternoon.

Peace out, 2011. It was fun.
